About DEVRIES Family ConneXions

This site is created by Eleonor James and "Dedicated to my great aunt
WYTSKE DEVRIES"
Wytske left her little village "Akkrum", Friesland to be with the love of her
life "BOUWE THYS DE JONG" in the USA.

No matter what her parents told her "not to do", Wytske stood by her decision and sailed on the Noordam to the free Port of New York, leaving the old behind, sailing "alone" to the new world to be with her future husband Bouwe. Wytske was reunited with Bouwe again at Ellis Island.

Bouwe and Wytske became Winnie and Ben DeYoung and lived their life in Grand Rapids MI Her brother & my grandfather SYBREN DEVRIES - AKA- " Meester DeVries " was the only one of fourteen brothers & sisters who visited his sister.
In my search I found my cousin Thys, grandson of Ben & Winnie DeYoung. Glad I found you, dear cousin!

Meet my ancestors and their decendents from all over the world. Because of our International relatives the language on this site is English but don't hesitate to contact me in Frisian or Dutch.
Ask me for a pasword and take a look around, you never know, we might be related.
More information about our families and/or photo's are most welcome.
